June 21, 2021 – Burn Suspension Lifted

For Immediate Release: June 21th, 2021

Burn suspension lifted for Kenai Peninsula

(Kenai Peninsula, AK) With moderating weather throughout the Kenai Peninsula, the burn suspension has been lifted.  As of 8:00am on June 21th, 2021, the suspension in no longer in effect.

All open burning, and other burning covered under the large and small burn permits is authorized.  Please follow the safe burning platform outlined in the permit.  Permits can be obtained online and at local fire departments.  For any assistance in obtaining a permit, or if you have any questions regarding burning please call the Division of Forestry’s local office.
